I was a student of Roy's in an ethics class he taught at PSU. He made what could have been a difficult course engaging, accessible, and relevant. I will never forget him and his message that as future counselors we are "extraordinary citizens" taking on additional ethical responsibility to better help our clients. Roy was an extraordinary citizen, and clinician, and professor, and colleague. I was fortunate enough to take another elective with Roy, technology issues in counseling, in which he taught me everything I would need to know to ethically and legally see clients via tele-health. I took that class in November 2019, with no concept of how life would change just a few months later. I think of Roy often and am grateful for his knowledge and expertise which he shared so generously.
