I was so excited to meet another tech nerd who went into counseling, when I met Roy at an ORCA picnic years ago. I've been a member of PCT since sometime close to the beginning and always felt like I knew Roy from his trainings (much better than I actually did). Just last week I was completing a training and realized that he and Electra must have been in Hokkaido at the same time my brother, Tim, did JET. I reached out and sure enough, Roy remembered him and Tim remembered Roy and Electra. So many communities intersected through Roy. Reading through the MealTrain, I saw so many of my favorite counselors and every naturopath I've ever known, as my doctor or friend, on the comments section. Roy clearly loved and was loved by all of these people doing incredible healing work.
If I feel his loss, knowing him professionally and only loosely, I can't imagine the grief his closer circle is experiencing. He made such an impact in a short time. I'm so grateful for everything he did and who he was. Electra, I hope you feel comfort from strangers, friends, and family as you navigate his loss. I think of you many times a day and hope you're doing as ok as you can possibly do.
