I am dumbfounded, shocked, and devastated. My heart goes out to his wife, all those at PCT, and all of those that only new him professionally, like me and yet felt like he was their good friend and mentor when it came to anything HIPAA. I found Roy when I was trying to understand HIPAA requirements in the field of counseling. He took the law and made it understandable (almost) without making me feel stupid. I have participated in everything I could manage at PCT. Many things I am still waiting to complete, but always knew that if I had a question, he would know the answer or figure it out for me and I could depend on that. I watched him grow PCT with Liath from my private practice across the country in Maryland. I teach other therapists about HIPAA and Telehealth now, thanks to Roy, and always send them to Roy and PCT to get more clarity and guidance moving forward. He has left an incredible legacy in the field that can't ever be filled in the same way, but I know that Liath and the team will figure out some way to keep his memory and teachings alive. While I don't know Electra, I can only imagine you were the wind beneath his wings. May you find comfort as you navigate your life without him. Thank you so much for giving us permission to grieve our loss and celebrate him!!!
