I am surprised, and so sad, to hear about Roy’s death. I admired Roy, and all the people at PCT, for the work they did/do. Roy embodied integrity, kindness and bravery. My beginner questions about using email and record keeping was so much more than just those things, they were about how I want to relate to the world with integrity and how to participate in multiple systems (legal, professional, societal, etc.) while still being authentically me. Roy got that. He might not have understood the depth of the inquiry I was sitting with, but in answering my (always anonymous) office hour questions with kindness, clarity, and sharing the “how to think about this”, I got the nourishment I needed to take my next steps. Roy and PCT played an integral part in me being able to step into my private practice and do my work in the world. I am deeply grateful to him. To the staff at PCT, and to Roy’s friends and family, my heart goes out to you.
