Only knew him virtually, but...

I echo the words of so many here--I was shocked to receive the email of Roy's death and deeply saddened to lose someone I had never met in person. His voice was a salve for this technophobe--it reached through the stratosphere and helped me know that everything would be all right. I consulted with him on a project once, and his words of encouragement--from a fellow practitioner--were so helpful and meaningful. As shocked as I am, I can only imagine for his family, colleagues, and friends. My deepest sympathies. May your beliefs comfort and sustain you as you adjust to the "hole" that he leaves.
